Is 'Slain in the Spirit' Biblical?

In Many Charismatic Churches today we see a phenomena known as 'Being Slain in the Spirit' whereby people are said to be overtaken by the Holy Spirit and knocked unconscious to the floor.  This can be achieved, it is taught, by a person who has been 'anointed' by the Holy Spirit touching the person or even pointing a finger at them from a distance!  The person then falls prostrate to the floor!  This is said to be evidence that the HOLY SPIRIT has overtaken a person.  Is this true according to Bible?  I do not believe so.  First of all, the term itself is not mentioned anywhere in the Bible, nor is there a single example of any such phenomena in the Bible!  The passages that Charismatic/Pentecostal preachers use to back up this experience are taken out of context and teach nothing remotely resembling this so-called being 'SLAIN IN THE SPIRIT'!  Many who believe in this phenomena like to cite certain passages such as Genesis 15:12-21, Numbers 24:4, 1 Samuel 19:20, and Matthew 17:6.  But in each of these cases, they are reading their own meaning into the text and taking the passage out of context to draw their conclusion!  Again, let me repeat, there is nothing in the Bible that even remotely resembles this being 'slain in the spirit'!  I have heard people tell me that when they were 'slain in the spirit' at a charismatic type service, the preacher pointed his finger at them or touched them and they were knocked to their knees. This person said they could not open their eyes, and could only see a red velvet wall in front of them, and they could feel a hand on them at different times.  Afterwards, a friend witnessing the event said there was never a person close by when this particular 'slaying in the spirit' occurred to this person!  Whose hand was it?  I believe with all my heart that this is intruding into demonic and occultic realms!  I realize this makes some folks angry to hear this, but I believe it is so.  Renown Occult expert, Kurt Koch has studied the occult for years and this particular phenomena of being slain in the spirit, speaking in tongues, holy laughter, etc., he says, is one of the most dangerous weapons the devil is using against the Christian today!   Here is a man who has studied occultism and Satanism his whole life and is considered an expert and he says STAY AWAY FROM ALL OF IT in his book OCCULT ABC that can be purchased at any bookstore!  The bible says God is not the author of confusion, and to let all things be done decently an din order! (1 Cor.14:33,40) To have women being knocked prostrate to the floor in a church service and having special 'modesty blankets' to cover them from exposing themselves ought to speak for itself!  I believe it is disgustingly wrong!  I agree with Kurt Koch!  Stay away from it!  I realize some good sincere folk are involved with it but that doesn't make it right!  What does the BIBLE SAY ABOUT IT is what I'm concerned about.  In our particular area a charismatic preacher was said to be 'anointed' with the Holy Spirit and pointing his finger at people and causing them to be 'slain in the spirit' and it was later found out the preacher was having an affair with another man's wife and later left his family and married this woman after breaking up her home!  Now my friend, the Holy Spirit would not be involved  in empowering a man who was doing that! Where did this 'power' come from?  I'll let you come to your own conclusion.  I believe it was demonic.  This same group who teaches 'slain in the spirit' also is wrong on many other things.  I believe this is something else they are seriously wrong about.  We can all disagree on minor things and that's okay, but to encourage folks to get involved in something UNBIBLICAL and possibly even OCCULTIC and DEMONIC crosses the border to EXTREMELY DANGEROUS and should be avoided at all cost!  I don't believe any father would want his teenage daughter being knocked unconscious by any preacher nor would he want his wife to be rolling around unconscious either where men are having to cover her up with modesty blankets!  There is NO Scripture support for any such a thing in the Bible!  If you are involved with it, ask God to help deliver you from it immediately!  The bible teaches that Satan and the powers of darkness can do 'miracles' (2 Thess. 2:9) and many people, even Christians, will be deceived
