The New School Prayer

Now I sit me down in school
Where praying is against the rule.
For this great nation under God
Finds mention of Him very odd.

If Scripture now the class recites,
It violates the Bill of Rights.
And anytime my head I bow
Becomes a federal matter now.

Our hair can be purple or orange or green,
That's no offense, it's the freedom scene.
The law is specific, the law is precise,
Prayers spoken aloud are a serious vice.

For praying in a public hall
Might offend someone with no faith at all.
In silence alone we must meditate,
God's name is prohibited by the State.

We're allowed to cuss & dress like freaks,
And pierce our noses, tongues & cheeks.
They've outlawed guns; but FIRST the Bible.
To quote the Good Book makes me liable.

Reading Harry Potter is a recommended book; but having a Bible is as bad as being a CROOK!

"HEATHER HAS TWO MOMMIES" is taught to kids today; for that's 'politically correct'...an 'alternative lifestyle' they say.

We must be tolerant of other people's views, and disregard narrow-minded 'Bible-thumpers' as an IGNORANT few....

We can elect a pregnant Senior Queen,
And the unwed daddy, our Senior King.
It's "inappropriate" to teach right from wrong,
We're taught that such "judgments" do not belong.

Who are we....to force our views, on kids who have their own right to choose;

We can get our condoms, & birth controls,
Study witchcraft, vampires & totem poles.
But the Ten Commandments are not allowed,
That's just not tolerated by the liberal crowd.

To get an aspirin for a headache, there's just no way!  But a trip to the abortion clinic....the parents have no say.

50 years ago we had spitballs, paper wads, and chewing gum;  Today it's drugs, knives, and kids with guns...

The teacher's hands are tied; What can they say?  If they're not careful, they'll answer to the NEA...

To discipline a child, it's just no use;  for to 'spank' a student is 'Child Abuse'....

They'll call a lawyer on you right away; and if they can...they'll put you away;

The Reverend Jesse Jackson and the ACLU, will be at your door....to sue, sue, sue...

To dare to paddle a child, Sir...they'll bring down the hammer; for spanking your own kid they'll put you in the slammer!

Discipline your child today and they'll take that kid away; Adoption, however, by two 'gays'...now that certainly is okay;

We've come a long way baby, but we're politically correct; but that's okay, as long as the poor tax payer pays the check....

It's scary here I must confess,
When chaos reigns the school's a mess.
So, Lord, this silent plea I make:
Should I be shot, my soul please take.
