The Monkey Story

Three monkeys sat on a coconut tree, discussing things that are said to be:

Said one to the others, “Now listen you two, there’s a rumor I’m hearing that just can’t be true!

Namely that MAN ascended from our noble race;

I’m telling you boys… THAT is a DISGRACE..!!

Why…no monkey ever injured his wife, ruined her babies, or took her life…

OR passed them on from one to another, scarcely knowing who was their mother;

And another thing you’ll never see, a monkey build a fence around a coconut tree;

Letting all the coconuts go to waste, forbidding the other monkey even a taste;

Why if I build a fence around a coconut tree, Starvation would force you to steal from me;

And here’s another thing a MONKEYwon’t do, Go out at night AND get on a stew;

And use a GUN, a CLUB, or a KNIFE, to take some other Monkeys’ life;

Would a monkey take its babies, and throw them in the trash..and sell their parts for cold, hard CASH?

Would a monkey take drugs and get on a HIGH..and wake up the next morning and wonder WHY?

Yes…Man descended…that ORNERY cuss;

But…BOYS..he didn’t descend from us!
